Meet your Therapists |
Meet your TherapistsScot O'Shea Scot O'Shea is a resident of San Antonio , Texas where he is in private practice working with people who exhibit stress, pain and other assorted maladies. Scot opened Healing Choices for people 12 years ago. He continues to work with people specializing in injury and trauma. Scot's work with horses evolved out of the work he does with people. It is through working with horses that no one else wanted or would pay to maintain that he has come to understand what can be done to rehabilitate horses. It was a natural for Scot to make horses part of his practice as he has had a life long love for the animal. Kelley Junkman When asked the question, “When did you get your first horse?” Kelley replied “ They were there before me”. It was Kelley's job to maintain the horses around the farm and yet to a kid that was not a job. She graduated from the farm to Santa Anita Race track in 1977 and worked there until 1989. Kelley did everything from hot walker, groom, shed row foreman, to pony girl. There is not much that Kelley has not done with Thoroughbreds . Kelley has spent the past 3 years training in a special modality for pain relief. She works with Scot at Healing Choices and like Scot is now taking that training to the horses. Kathleen George
Kathleen George made her move from California to Texas in 1997. Over the years Kathleen has competed in Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, Cross Country Jumping, Eventing, and Cutting. Her emphasis is on learning in a fun and relaxed, low-pressure atmosphere that is healthy and helpful to both riders and horses. It takes a page just to list the awards that Kathleen has won during her competitive career. She is a USDF Bronze, Silver medalist and is available for instruction, beginning with Training Level thru FEI. Kathleen brings her 30 years experience riding, showing, teaching, and professional judging to her practice of horse health care.
Margaret Crews Margaret began her horse career growing up on a working cattle ranch. Her father gave her a solid working foundation as he taught her how to care for the ranch's horses. Margaret took this early knowledge of care and management to the next level as she became the manager of a boarding barn. It was a natural step to moved from ranch management to stable management, rider, trainer and finally to owner. Margaret and her husband Stace bought Valley View Equestrian Center two years ago. She shows her paint gelding year while manages, trains, and works to improve the health of her horses as well as others. |
